Well, it is Sunday and all of you know that we have had two GREAT days and nights of rain! And you should know by now that the stuff that falls from the sky fills up the lake. I just love it and have been gripping about it!

But today we had my little ducks come right up to the door of our little glass room and the Hubby asked me if I thought they would come into the house. Of course my reply was “just try it and see”. It was so funny! He slid the glass door open very slowly and put some cheerios right in front of the door “inside the room”. They came up and reached inside with their long necks and ate a few till they were gone. Then the Hubby put a few more up closer to him and they tried to step over the metal door facing and their little web feet fell into the crack. They looked so funny trying to get their feet out. One came in first and then the others followed. They were so cute eating cheerios on the rug. I told the Hubby, you better hope they don’t POOP on the rug. Then I saw my neighbor walking up the walk very slowly. She grinned and all of a sudden the ducks saw her!

One green head flew out the door and the other green head and the mallard darted across the room trying to get out and ran right into the other glass door. By the time I got to the other side of the room, my friend had entered the room and the poor ducks were running behind the Hubby’s chair and almost knocked over the floor lamp! Finally I got the other door open and out they flew and I have not seen them since!

That’s not all that happened during the week. I saw a lizard run across the floor in that same room. So out came the sticky pads again! You know what happened to me the last time I used one of those things. So a few days later there was that little critter stuck on that sticky thing. I had also put one in the closet just in case he got in there. But as I opened the door, I noticed that a beach towel fell on the floor and you know what happened then. No more beach towel. Out it went in the trash. It’s been my experience that tennis shoes are the only thing you can get off a sticky pad.

Then yesterday I had an energetic streak and man I cleaned everything. I was so proud of myself. Then right when it was time to go to bed, I went to the closet to get something and ANTS were on the shelf! They were coming in through the breaker box. I felt I had been invaded by all the lake creatures in one week. Out came the ANT KILLER!

Of course we can all laugh about it now. But as I sit here looking at the sun shining over the water, I would not live anywhere else in the world. I am truly enjoying the moment. I hope you are doing the same. Bye now!
