This is the third time I have started this column and it has gone nowhere! Usually I just pop right out of bed and something funny pops into my head and I write it down and then later in the day I write my column. Not today!
Each morning I really enjoy getting up early. You see I have a door right off my bathroom and I can look out and see the sun come up from my porch. Before daylight savings time it was black all around. But now it is so great to see the sun come up and shine a bronze color all over the water. The only thing that would make my life complete is to have the Hubby bring me a cup of coffee. But you know that is not going to happen. He suggested a coffee pot so I could make my coffee right then. But I guess it would be kinda strange to have a coffee pot in your bathroom.
The water is finally down. I bet you are glad to hear that since I have gripped about it forever. Finally, I have raked our yard and hopefully new grass will come back. But my poor body will never be the same. Every part of me hurts, even parts I didn’t even know I had. That’s what happens when you are trying to do the things you use to do. But you know Old TG, I am never going to quit doing what I love to do.
My neighbor brought me some new plants to put out and I even dug sprouts off my “yellow bush” and put them out. I dearly love to grow things. If you are ever anxious and upset with how things are going in your life, just buy a pot and plant a flower so you can watch it grow. Better still, dig up a flower bed or plant a bush, then busy yourself taking care of it. Before you know it you will be calm as a cucumber. I bet you didn’t know I was Dr. TG now and just think, all my advice is free.
You know women are the kind of people who always want to take care of something or somebody. It’s funny, I had never thought of that until this morning. I even look forward to the little ducks that come to my door looking for cheerios. Yesterday I could hear one of them squawking and I ran around the house to see what was going on. Well, the two “OLD MEAN WHITE DUCKS” were back and I guess my little pets just didn’t like that at all. I don’t know where they come from but I hope they find their way home.
When we first moved to the lake we had just one mallard duck that stated visiting our house and the Hubby bought her corn. I did not get involved with that duck. She would actually come right up to the screen door and quack for him to come out and feed her. She remained here for about three seasons and then one spring we came back and the Hubby called and called, but there was no duck to be found. So this year he told me he was not going to get involved with any more ducks.
So much for rambling on about the ducks. I must tell you that the Hubby went fishing with his Buddy for the first time this season. It’s funny how a man can’t get it together. I don’t care how much STUFF he takes down to that dock, there is always one more thing he needs. One guess, he forgot the key to the boat?
It was so cute to see two grown men wave as they were pulling away from the dock. They had a smile on their face from ear to ear. It reminded me of the Christmas my son saw his electric train for the first time. Memories are wonderful. I hope you are making memories so you can relive them as the years pass by.
When they returned with NO FISH, they told me it was just great to be out on the water enjoying the moment. Love to you all! Bye now
