Hello again to all my friends in Logan County. I am glad to be back in the saddle again and feeling much better. I now know what it is to have difficulty breathing and I can tell you it is not fun. Since the lung surgery two weeks ago my breathing is 100 percent better.

Former first lady Nancy Reagan’s funeral is today. I think she was a classy lady. It is no doubt that she truly loved President Reagan and gave him the best of care. I think it was an extraordinary thing that she selected the men and women, from the Secret Service that had looked after her for many years, to serve as her pall bearers. What an honor this must be for them. At another time I will share some of my observations of President and Mrs. Reagan from my 28 years in Washington.

I want to wish a happy birthday to Noreen Johnson. What a lovely lady. She looks many years younger than she actually is, but then who am I to know. She was born on March 2, 92 years ago on the “Lost Cave Farm” in Lewisburg. She has four sons Larry, Brent, Dennis and David and lots of family. If you know this sweet lady give her a call and wish her a happy birthday.

The Red River Fish & Game Habitat (Club) will be selling Strawberry Festival T-Shirts and Ball Caps as a fund raiser in May. There will be no dates on them. For $50 any business, church or individual can have an ad on the back of the shirts. For more information contact a club officer or myself at 615-389-5495.

Bobby Simpson of Russellville is a very nice and polite 30 year old young man. He is married to Ashley Simpson. He is a wearer of some of the most tasteful tattoos I have seen. On him they are truly art. He told me that his tattoos were done at Carters’ Tatoos in Bowling Green.

The 8th Annual Blanket Trade Day will be held at the Red River Meeting House April 1-3, 2016. You can camp or just spend time trading and shopping. Bring trade items for Saturday evening. There will also be a Pot Luck meal that evening and a memorial service for the late Steve Lashlee. There will be a church service on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m.

Start planning for Adairville’s Annual Car Show which will be on Saturday May 14 and the Annual Strawberry Festival the week of May 16 – 21. Arm bands for the rides will go on sale in mid April.

“How Adolf Hitler Came To Power”.

It didn’t start with Gas Chamber.

It started with politicians playing on the prejudices of a Christian Nation.

It started with a message of us versus them.

It started with intolerance and hate speeches.

It started with denying basic rights.

It started with burning houses of worship.

It started with ordinary citizens turning a blind eye.

Time to go. Good night “Sweet Wanda, Lori and Tammy” employees at Wal-Mart, Elizabeth Hall, Peggy & “Pops” Brewer, Alberta Sanders, Virginia Lloyd , Mrs. McKinney, John Lee and “Lady” Barnes and Mrs. Calabash where ever you are.
