Its four o’clock on Saturday morning when most people are cutting those big “zzzzzz’s”; not old Tulip. Words seem to wake me up and I get the most wonderful feeling knowing that I can jump out of bed and send you a message. Yesterday, I was the “marketing sales woman” for a person that makes the most beautiful “paper things” I have ever seen. I even told a few who asked who I was that I was “MOTOR MOUTH OF THE SOUTH”. You see most of the people I have met here are from up north. What a day!
As I look over the last two months I have been away from you people, I have been so fortunate to meet wonderful people. Sure, I have eaten the most wonderful food, seen a beautiful ocean, almost got blown away by a tornado that “whirled” through and saw beautiful sun rises and sun sets! But nothing compares to the people that I have met.
You won’t believe this but I can be a good listener! Yes, TG has listened to so many problems and situations these past days. When I got here, I was ready for peace and quiet but all you have to do is sit down in the lobby with beauty all around you and hear about everything that is going on in the lives of those that live somewhere in the world. Last year you heard about me TRYING to knit! Well, people this year I joined a Bible study and played bridge and Mexican Train with dominoes. I went to castles and luncheons; drove people to events and even carried trash to the dumpster for the lady down the hall. How wonderful it was to be in the world of someone else for just a moment. You realize you are not the only one that has an ache or pain. Especially one that has had a horrible event happen in their life.
You celebrate with a person who got up in a ladies meeting and took off her jacket to show us a “tee shirt” that had “I just won $10,000 dollars at a casino”! I really did not think this ever happened. Yes, I have been to a casino but I can say all I came home with was another inch on my waist because they had a wonderful buffet. She told us that it was a blessing. She was having an old log cabin rewired so her family could enjoy the mountains. It was being completed while she was here with us and the estimate for that project was $9,000 dollars. You see I still believe in miracles. God takes care of us in strange ways. I was going to go on one of these trips and I got up sick that morning and could not make the bus trip. He knew I was going to probably eat too much that day, so he did me a favor. I really won that day.
We only have two more weeks here in Never Never land but I am ready to come home to the cold, damp weather; to all my great friends at the lake and Wayne’s Place. By the way, I missed the “going away party” for the owners. Yep, my favorite diner has been sold but I am sure the new owners will be just as fabulous as the previous ones. You see it’s the people that drink coffee there that make it great.
I have missed my little UK GROUP OF FANS that have been shouting and screaming for the team without me. Especially the game with Vanderbilt!! But hang in there gang, old TG is coming home!
Hugs and Kisses to you all. I am through drinking my coffee and talking with the most important people in the world; that would be YOU.
Be sure to enjoy the day. I am going back to bed. Bye now.
