Greetings from The Antioch Community.
Happy Valentine’s Days to everyone.
Our weatherman is talking snow again. Sure hope we don’t get as much as we did the last time.
We are thankful that Juanita Key has improved enough to get to leave the hospital. But she still needs your prayers.
Our dear friend, Ms. Lucille Beckham, called me Saturday to tell me that the Kentucky Wildcats was going to be on Channel 5. I was so glad to see them, especially since they won. Ms. Lucy is the oldest member of our Tops Club 466 Russellville. She has been a Kops for 20 some odd years, which means “Keep off pounds sensibly.” That takes dedication. Ms. Lucy, we love you. You are an inspiration to the rest of us. She also told me that she was enjoying my column. Thanks!
Melba had a good write up in our church bulletin on Sunday. You can miss Heaven by 18 inches. The distance between the head and the heart is 18 inches. So please don’t let that short distance make you miss heaven.
One of our young boys which is a new Christian and member of our church got up Sunday and told about the youth going to Bowling Green (I think) to a Christian concert. He really did a good job. We are really proud of our young people. Chris Kenner is the leader of our young people and we are very proud of him also.
Vanessa Price is having her teeth cut out this morning (Monday). Hope she does real good.
Our Valentine supper will be Saturday night, February 13 at 6 p.m. Tammy Sisco is in charge. She does a good job.
My cousin, Omanell Robertson from Florida called me last week. She wasn’t feeling as well as her breathing was worse. We always enjoy hearing from her.
I looked out the window and it was snowing.
Saturday, February 13th will be Dr. Larry Gotts’ birthday. If you are his patient, I hope you will remember him. They do so much for us, trying to take care of us. His long time nurse Karen for 16 years has left and gone to another position. Hope she will be happy. We sure are going to miss her. I met Carolyn last week who will be taking her place. She said she was happy to be there. She is the daughter of Betty and Warren Stuart.
We miss those at church who are elderly and not able to come. Ms. Goldie Johnson 94, Myrtle Pogue 94, Juanita Key 92, Christine White 89, and Rosie Yarnell 86 years young. We love you. We miss you and we keep you in our prayers.
Jeanie Sears has been having trouble with her back and she missed two Sundays. We miss you and your “hug.” Hope you are soon better.
Serenity is not freedom from the storm, but peace amid the storm.
Isaac Christian won in a contest at Lewisburg School on Friday night. He was nominated King. His is my neighbor and also kin to me.
Have a good week.
