Greetings from The Antioch Community.
Happy New Year to everybody. 2015 sure was a short year to me.
Sorry that I didn’t write any news for the last week of the year.
Went to see my rheumatologist on Monday with my arm and shoulder. They made two x-rays. Said I had arthritis. He put a hot in my shoulder and told me to take it easy Monday and Tuesday. So it hurts anyway, but I didn’t try to write.
Hope you had a Merry Christmas. I sure enjoyed my Christmas. My son, Terry, sand his daughter, Terrika, came from Nashville to see me on Christmas Day. We then went down to my other son’s, Marion and Betty’s house and visited with them for a while.
On Saturday I went with Marion and Betty to my great granddaughter, Kelli and Chase Nash and had Christmas with all the family. They live at Rockfield. It was the first time I had been to their house. They have a beautiful home and I am so proud for them. Got to see Shaun, my great great grandson. They played Dirty Santa and we had a bushel of fun. The young folks then played games and they sure had a good time.
Sheila Christian cooked dinner on Christmas Eve for their family. She carried her food up to her son, Trevor and Emily home to eat, because they had more room. She said Emily cooked the ham for her. Grandson Jordan, wife Faith, got a leave from the military and got to come home for Christmas. They had lots to eat and a good time celebrating Christmas.
Vanessa Price had her family for supper on Christmas eve. Her mom, Dolores Harris, got to go.
Dolores Harris had her family for Christmas Day dinner on Friday night. She said they all ate and enjoyed it and had lots of food left over.
We were so glad to have Bro. Jimmy and Penny Kenner from Oklahoma at church at Antioch on Sunday morning. They had his dad, Papa John as they call him, with them. Penny said they were going to hath to cut their visit short, because Bro. Jimmy was called back to preach the funeral of a 31-year-old man.
My sister, Sue and James, came by on Sunday to see me. They had been to church Sunday morning.
My cousin, Omanel, Called me from Florida on New Years Day. It is always good to hear from her. We think about things that happened when we were young and have a good laugh.
We had movie night Friday night in the Fellowship Hall. Only had 11 that showed up. The movie was “War Room.” It is a really good movie.
I called Louie Schmidt (my brother-in-law) on Wednesday. He was sick and coughing real bad. He went and had Christmas with his older brother and wife. He said he went to the cemetery and talked to Mama. That was what he called Mera Dean.
Visiting with Myrtle Pogue on Christmas Day night was Lois Earl and Faye Brown, Carrie Belcher, Rodger, Laurie Belcher and children and Phillip. They brought Christmas dinner as Myrtle wasn’t able to cook. Wasn’t that a nice thing to do?
We enjoyed having Paulette Hadden to visit with us at Antioch on Sunday night during Christmas. She sang three songs. We love to hear her sing.
Tammy Sears sang the special Sunday morning.
We send Sincere Sympathy to the family of Virgil Lee Sears. He always enjoyed reading the community news.
We send Sincere Sympathy to the family of Wayne Marshall. His sister, Marylin Goodman is a member of the Tops club in Russellville.
A clean conscience makes a soft pillow.
Have a good week.
