Greetings from The Antioch Community.
Sure hope you reader out there had a nice Thanksgiving with your family.
I spent mine home sick, but my good friend Jeanie Gregory called in and had them to bring me a Thanksgiving Dinner. Sure was a lot of food and it was delicious. Thanks!
My son, Terry came home from Nashville to see me on Thursday for a while. My other son Marion was here too, so I got to have both sons to see me.
Sure has been a rainy weekend. I didn’t get out and go to church, so it has been a long day.
Dolores Harris and Vanessa Price had 21 members of their family for Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday night. They had lots to eat and a good time being together.
Sheila and Jimmy Christian had their children and their families for Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday night. They also had lots to eat and a good time being together.
My son and daughter-in-law had their family for Thanksgiving Dinner on Saturday night and I wasn’t able to be with them. They had lots to eat too, because Betty always does and she is a very good cook.
Our W.O.M. Ladies sponsor the Shoebox ministry for the Operation Christmas Child for Samaritan’s Purse along with our church helping us out. We sure are thankful for each one who had a part in these boxes. We had 82 boxes at Antioch. We have a young lady, Jennifer Delk, in our church that works very hard on this project and we sure do appreciate what she does.
I called my brother-in-law Louie Schmidt in Branson. Mo. he spent Thanksgiving Day with his brother Russell and his wife. Our late sister Mera Dean and Louie’s wife’s birthday would have been November 10th. I still miss her calling me on Saturday.
We were very sorry to hear that Cheryl Flewallen, our very talented organist at Antioch Church, had to have emergency surgery on Friday night. Hope she can soon be much better. Would you remember her in your prayers?
Well, November will be gone when this comes out in the Paper. It would be long now until Christmas will be here. Seems like a very short year to me.
Our W.O.M. Ladies at Antioch also help sponsor saving your change or bills for the Soldiers and their families at the Fisher House in Fort Campbell. Their family can stay in the Fisher House for free while their spouse is in the hospital at Fort Campbell. So don’t forget to fill our barrel with money. We hath to turn it in the last of December.
Plan ahead – it wasn’t raining when Noah built the ark.
Have a good week.
