GOOD NEWS! Tulip Green is back at the lake. I didn’t have any brass band out in front of my house but I had something better than that….ALL MY BUDDIES were anxiously waiting for us to return. My next door neighbor remarked when I asked if he missed us, he said, you better believe it, no excitement at all really kinda DULL! Man, it is great to be missed. I bet you can guess who did not miss us too much, yep the Daughter! She even broke down and hugged the Hubby’s neck and said, “it’s gonna be kinda quiet around here with you people gone. I know the birds, the turkeys and maybe even the squirrels since the Hubby kept all the feeders full all day long. But everything must come to an end. We are back once again at our beloved lake.
After we got all our stuff out of the car once again (I do believe I heard a sigh of relief) we jumped in our bed and covered up our heads. Then the next morning we could not wait to go back to Wayne’s Place and see all our Buddies there. When we arrived I could not believe my eyes. There was not a car in sight. They were not open on Labor Day weekend. My favorite mail lady was out in the parking lot and she told me they did not have any air conditioning! WHAT, not on the busiest weekend of the year. So you would think that we would just go home and cook breakfast; I even mentioned that and of course the Hubby said, “Why don’t we go down to the Buggy Shack”. So off we went and of course it was closed. Well, the Hubby finally took me up on my offer and we went home to cook breakfast.
So now it is officially Labor Day and I gave Wayne’s a little call before we started out to get breakfast. They said, yep, open as usual and of course everyone was just like always. What a great day!
Of course a trip to Walmart was in order and I told the ladies who were behind me in line that I was sorry I bought everything in the store. So you know that the food that went out the doors at Walmart meant they had to be carried in my house at the lake. But you won’t believe what happened, my neighbors next door just open the back of my car and took all my groceries inside. Man, I wanted to just hug their necks. Friends are wonderful.
Of course we had your usual boating people on the lake having a ball. I really thought Mother Nature had taken a giant mixer and just ran it on high. Boats were coming and going and wave runners were right in the middle of it. But it is kinda sad; SUMMER IS OFFICIALLY OVER but the FALL SEASON and football is on the way. Also a little “round ball” is on the agenda.
Keep tuned in for all the latest news from the lake. Of course you must enjoy every moment because old TG said so. Bye now.
