Greetings from The Antioch Community.
Well, my big day has come and gone and I have started on another year.
I had a wonderful 87th Birthday, thanks to my family and friends and church family. They sang Happy Birthday to me at church Sunday morning. Melba Gibbs, Juanita Key, Marcie Patterson and myself left church Sunday morning after service was over. Melba drove us to Russellville and we ate lunch. Then she drove us to Elkton Baptist Church to the Worldcraft Party. Then Sunday night after the service, we had refreshments int he Fellowship Hall. They sang Happy Birthday to me again and also to Loretta Sears.
Judy White made me a birthday cake. She had it decorated in blue because I am a Kentucky Wildcats fan. The cake was good and pretty. I got eight phone calls, 24 birthday cards with one more on the way. Got so many beautiful gifts including some beautiful flowers, which are always special. Thanks again to everyone who made my day special.
My sister Sue and James came to see me for my birthday and brought me a gift. Our late sister Mera Dean will have been gone three years on September 10th. I talked to my brother-in-law Louie on August 21st, as it was his birthday.
Scott Freeman, the Tops Area Captain, visited our club Tops #Ky466 Russellville on Wednesday of last week. He gave the lesson for us. We enjoyed having him. He is a nice young man. He went and ate lunch with us at Colonial Inn. If you would like to lose some weight, come and join us. We meet each Wednesday morning from 9-10. We will make you welcome.
Marcie Patterson and myself visiting on Monday morning with Myrtle Pogue and Donno and Rosie Yarnell. They are not doing too good health wise.
Rita Coursey brought me my supper on Friday night from Elk Lick Baptist Church. It sure was good. I told her it would be my birthday dinner. I sure do appreciate their thoughtfulness.
Bro. Bob Barnes preached for us Sunday morning as our pastor, Bro. Clardy, is on vacation. He also will fill our pulpit this coming Sunday morning. Bro. Clardy will be back Sunday night.
The White Reunion will be held in the Fellowship Hall at Antioch on Saturday, Sept. 5 from 1-5 in the afternoon.
Remember Team Kids will start on Wednesday night, Sept. 9 at 6 p.m. They will also be having a kickoff that night with a wiener roast, hayride and games. Parents, be sure to bring your children.
Keep in mind that the Seniors will be going on September 18th to East Meets West restaurant in Hopkinsville. They will be leaving the church that morning at 10 a.m. with Melba driving the bus. We always have a good time.
Jimmy White said Sunday that his mom, Christine still needs our prayers. She has good days and bad days.
Our words have the power to build up or tear down. So let’s try to be the ones who build up each other.
Have a good week.
P.S. Our Tops Club #Ky466 Russellville meets in the dining room of Logan Memorial Hospital. I omitted that when I mentioned it.
