Greetings from The Antioch Community.

Our church sponsored a community Fish Fry on Saturday night. it was hosted by Tammy and Mike Sisco at their red barn. It was a nice place and they had everything fixed so nice. It was a good air stirring, so we didn’t get hot.

Bro. Clardy and Michael Christian fried the fish and they were really good. We had hush puppies, white beans, baked beans, slaw and desserts galore.

Saturday was James Thornberry’s birthday, so his mom made a birthday cake for him. She lit the candles and had him to blow them out.

Tommy had Gospel music by “Justified.” They were from Stokes Chapel Church. They were really good and we enjoyed them very much. We had over 100 people present. Everyone had a good time. We enjoyed the good food, the good singing and the good fellowship. We want to thank Tammy, Mike and their family for all the hard work they did in getting everything ready and for their hospitality.

Melba Gibbs did the special for us at church Sunday morning. We always enjoy her singing for us. Cheryl Flewallen played a piano solo for us Sunday night. And we always enjoy her playing for us.

We had three people to join the church Sunday minoring. They were Kay and Mark Thornberry and James (Curley) Coursey. We welcome them with open arms.

Christine White is in Logan Memorial Hospital. Please remember her in your prayers.

Marcie and I went to see her Monday.

Rosie Yarnell is still in Rehab at Creekwood. So remember her and all the sick in your prayers.

Dolores Harris attended a cooking party on Friday night at the home of Sheila and Harry Epley. They cooked a cake in the microwaves, as well as other things.

I enjoyed listening to Dr. Larry Gotts on the Feedback Program with Don on Tuesday morning. If you are not listening to this program, you are missing out on a lot of free medical information. The good doctor is on the third Tuesday of each month. It is so thoughtful for the good doctor to take time out of his busy day to go to the radio station and do this program and answer your questions for free. Thanks Dr. Gotts and Don.

Mark and Kay Thornberry need some carpenters to go with them to South Dakota to winterize some of their trailers for winter. They are leaving August 29th. If your church would like to help with this mission project money wise, please call Mark and Kay. It would be very much appreciated.

The Team Kids will begin at Antioch on the 9th of September with the wiener roast, hayride and games.

Sometimes the best way to be like Jesus is to sit quietly with a hurting friend.

Have a good week.
