Touring with the Titans: Local business students gain insight into the business of sports
Have you ever wondered what it is like to stand on the sidelines where football legends have stood? Have you ever wondered if you could be a part of sports without playing?
After a trip to the Titans Learning Lab in Nashville, the Russellville Area Technology Center’s FBLA members gained insight into the business world of sports. The RATC FBLA was one of four chapters from Kentucky in attendance, as well as able to intermingle with the other several hundred members in attendance from southern Kentucky and northern Tennessee.
Titans’ employees took FBLA members on an interactive tour through LP Field stadium, visiting the locker rooms, the club level of the stadium, and other areas that are typically off limits. Around the football field, various stations were manned by additional employees- each station focused on a different branch of sporting business. Stations ranged from equipment management to mascot coordination and included in-depth discussions about the line of work, opening members’ minds to an array of new opportunities.
Russellville ATC Principal is Mrs. Beth Frogue, FBLA Advisors are: Ms. Melissa Powers, Office Technology Program, and Dr. Brenda Hazell, Accounting and Finance Program.
