The Gospeltones Reunion concert on the square was a huge success. Their voices and harmony is still so pure and the message they sing about is as well. A Big Thank You to each and every one of that group for coming and sharing your gift with us. So many have called and asked that we do this again in the fall. We will have to check with them and see. I know I enjoyed it immensely.
I was so glad to see David Perry at the concert. He got very tired before it was over and went home. He has a long way to go to get his strength back but prayers are still with him.
The Softball season is over for the summer except maybe a fall tournament. The girls (both ages) did a great job this year and I was so proud of their sportsmanship. Thanks to Leah and her 10 u coaching staff and to Chad and his 12 u coaching staff. These people gave a lot of time in working with these girls and all the girls grew in their playing skills this summer.
The soccer games have started and everyone needs to go watch these young children play. It is very entertaining. They are so cute and so determined and so much fun to watch. Thanks to the parents, coaches and a big thank you to Malik for helping teach them the game.
It is wonderful seeing the park is being used. We have some great ideas for increasing usage next year so stay tuned for coming details.
Coffee Bottom Girl:
In the past few weeks, I had mentioned Daddy’s nephew “Red” from Nashville, well this is about his boys. They had come to the farm to spend the weekend with us and Daddy and Red decided it was time they took them snipe hunting. They took them out late one night, gave them a bag to catch the snipes in and told them to stay down in the gulley and be really quiet while they went up the gulley from them and chased the snipes their way. Of course the boys had never heard of snipes and they were so excited to be able to be a part of this adventure. Well, of course the men came to the house and left them out there to realize they have been hoodwinked. A long time later, the boys came in. Daddy and Red asked how many snipes they got and they said they never got any. They were told that they ran them their way. I think it was the next day before they were told it was all a big joke on them. Boy were they mad.
A hui hou kāko
“May the road rise up to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
And the rain fall soft upon your fields
And until we meet again
May God hold you in the palm of his hand”
