Another week has passed. Another month has passed. And now you know it’s August, and folks, we need the rain. Are we asking God for this needed rain?
Got a call from cousin Shirley Price from Owensboro Friday and they had a good rain. he and Shirley have been busy with their garden, canning beans and lots of different kinds of pickles, plus other goodies. He always has a garden and they keep busy.
Ann Piper Pember of Greensboro, North Carolina, has recently been in Russellville the last two weeks visiting family members, friends and her cousin Kathryn Stuart. A good time was had by all.
Ann will return in October for the “Tobacco Festival” and a time of visiting Kathryn and other member of the family, as well as friends.
Kathryn has had some medical problems recently. Hope she soon gets to feeling much better.
I had a Dr.s appointment Monday, a check up on my blood work. All was good except I am anemic. Now the problem is why? We are in the process of finding out why.
Lannie Jernigan brought my supper to me Tuesday night. Curtis Coursey brought me some more of those good yellow tomatoes, so on Saturday morning I canned two quarts.
My hair was getting so long, bless Martha Williams heart, she came by Tuesday afternoon and trimmed it for me. It feels so much better. Thank you Martha. I appreciate that gal more then she will ever know.
On Thursday, retired professor of WKU, Dr. Lynwood Montel came down and we went on our usual monthly trip. We went up 106 to Sharon Grove, took a right, and when we got to where we were supposed to be, we were on 107 near Wiley’s Chapel Church. The last time we tried it up that long hill, we didn’t make it. It was muddy and we got hung up. We finally got back down the hill backwards, turned around and went somewhere else. I had forgotten where the hill had been reworked, more gravel and we got over it. I won’t say fine, but vary carefully. Anyway we had a good visit and stopped by the Ranger Grill and had our delicious meal.
We try to do this once each month and have back since I think it was 1986 when Bob was still living.
Until next time, smile and remember God loves you. He really does.
