Hello Auburn natives. Glad to have another beautiful day above ground, and what a day it was. Gave us a hint of what’s to come in another month or so.
Except for the flooding week before last, and compared to the rest of the country, winter has been reasonably kind to us here in Auburn. The flood though, left water over US68 and propane tanks from Gasper River floating in a field. Caldwell Leather was flooded and water was pumped from under Park Place I senior apartments for two days. All eleven units have been affected in some way due to weather. Can you imagine eleven women, no longer in their prime, unable to bathe or flush. Such is life.
Friends and family of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Wright helped them celebrate their golden wedding anniversary this past weekend. Congratulations and best wishes for a continued long life together.
Now for the Senior Citizens Center activities. Trying to maintain a standard schedule is difficult in freezing weather. But Tuesday night line dancing classes are still successful and well attended. So is the Wednesday Bingo and potluck lunch.
Due to the unpredictable weather, the Tuesday and Thursday Tai Chi classes are being temporarily postponed until more predictable weather conditions. However the very successful strength building classes will be a repeat beginning March 11. Serena Blick will again be instructing this twelve week course.
Everyone loved the Valentine’s dance on Friday night Feb. 14. Great decorations and table arrangements by Rita Britt.
Well it’s medication time again followed hopefully by sweet dreams. Take care one and all, and have a blessed day.
