Well you guys, it’s still cold at the lake. I called a friend and he told me that the lake had ice on it and that the geese were having a horrible time trying to find water. Can you imagine all of a sudden all the places you use to swim were suddenly covered with ice! My friend said they were squawking and squawking; swimming around and around trying to keep the water from freezing. You know I don’t think Mother Nature is going to let anything happen to them. I just love them to pieces….in a thousand pieces when I see all that POOP ON MY YARD AND BOAT DOCK! You won’t believe it but when winter is over they have covered my yard. You don’t need any fertilizer. That is why the grass is so green in the summer time.

We are just like the geese; the great big out of doors we use to enjoy is now COLD and in some places it has snow; so we are running around trying to figures out what to do until spring. I can only imagine what those poor people up north are doing right now. Thank goodness the Hubby’s fishing buddy suggested we come for a visit.

But you know the best rule for visiting; fish smells after three days and so does company. I bet you never heard of that. But I feel it is time for us to leave. Our friend assured us that we could stay as long as we wanted but really I think we need to go. You can just tell so many fish stories and tall tales.

I finally convinced the Hubby we should travel a little. You know I have always wanted to travel. I had four things I was going to do when I retired; they were traveling, watching TV, going to movies and living on water. I have accomplished all except going to movies! The Hubby doesn’t like going to the movies very much.

So off we go even further south. I think since I am so crazy about water, I think we should go see what we can find. You know as long as you have a computer, you can just pick a spot and go for it! So I let the Hubby pick the first spot.

We drove and drove and found a pretty large body of water. Isn’t it funny, it doesn’t take too much to make people our age happy? It seems that yesterday I was 16 and now I am “way on up there”. That’s what my granddaughter says. My theory is “you are as old as you feel and act”. Right now I might say I am 35 years old. But stick around a while; I might just change it since I have a birthday coming up pretty soon. But then again I just let them think it anyway. I might tell them my true age and I might not. You know ladies are not suppose to tell their age. I am sure there are a lot of ladies out there that feel the same. Sometimes I would like to tell my age so I can brag about living this long. I get sad when I say that, you see I lost a good friend this last year. I loved her dearly.

I got off the subject there a little. We are all settled in our new home away from home. Here I plan to stay until the Daughter says it is getting warmer. I have a lot of books to read and of course the Hubby watches TV a lot. He says he can dream of fishing.

When we walked in the lobby they had this great big puzzle on a table and about six people were trying to put it together. When I walked over they invited me right in to help. They said they put puzzles together all winter. When they finished one, they just get out another and start all over again. HAVING FUN! It seems people collect them during the summer and bring them down. They had a great big stack. I told the Hubby, “This is my kind of place”. Water nearby and nice people all around, just like the lake.

Well, until I see you again, I will see how much I can get into here. Of course I will share the information with you. You see one of the ladies told me they do all sorts of things to keep them busy during the cold weather. You see she is from way up north. When I told her I was from Kentucky, she just laughed and told me she thought I was from up north….Kentucky is a southern state!

Well, it does matter where you are from, it’s colder this winter than last winter and I hope I can endure until I am back in my rocker looking out over the lake.

Really life is what you make it, so I hope you are making it wonderful for yourself. Till next time, check on your neighbor and make sure they don’t need anything and please enjoy the moment! Bye now!
