I am one of those people who still believe in Miracles. Yes, MIRACLES. They are absolutely wonderful at Christmas. You see one happened to me two weeks ago and I would like to share it with you.

I have this “text message buddy” that I communicate with every day. She is house bound and it is nice for her to have someone to talk with. And of course I enjoy talking with her also.

One day she asked me to write a children’s story book about the animals, birds and all the other creatures on Lake Malone. She had no way to shop for her three grand children and she thought this would be a great gift.

I told her I could not promise anything. I didn’t want to tell her I didn’t have a clue where to start. You see I had always wanted to write a book but never a Children’s book. As a matter of fact I had tried many times but never could think of a subject.

So I thought I better “get with the program and get it done”. I put on my thinking cap and started writing, then after reading what I had written, I started all over again. Before I knew it I had a waste basket full of balled up paper. Of course the Hubby gave me some good advice. He said, “Why don’t you just quit trying so hard, just sit back and forget it for a while and it will come to you!” For once I took his advice.

We had some friends that live nearby, ask us to come over for the weekend to play cards. We love to play cards. So we went and I forgot all about the story book I was supposed to be writing.

Would you believe, early Saturday morning, I woke up with the entire book in my head. Don’t ask me where it came from. I grabbed a piece a paper and wrote the entire book on one piece of paper front and back. Of course I wrote very small and I drew little blocks around each page. Of course, we had a great weekend and I told my friend we had a great time and I must go and finish my book. She just laughed and shook her head. She knew me very well and knew I was always doing crazy things.

After I got it typed and printed, I thought what am I going to do for pictures? The Daughter tried to tell me what to do. She reminded me that drawing was not my strong suit and of course the Hubby had to jump in there and agree with her. He even mentioned I could have “stick people and animals”!

I then discovered I could insert clip art. That was fun but some animals were not available and I just printed them off and colored them myself and glued them to the master copy where I needed them.

When it was all complete, I went to see what it was going to cost to have it printed. When I told the printer how many copies I needed and how I wanted it printed, the cost was out of sight. I thought well, I can just copy it on my printer and put it together myself.

Then I went across the street to another store and told the gentleman that I was doing this project for a special person who could not shop for her grand children and was trying to get it to her as soon as possible

He quoted me a price that was half the previous price, so I had him double the order so my grand children could have one. When I went to pay the bill, he had cut the original price in half again. I nearly cried right there in the store. He must have seen that I was very anxious to get it done and he just took this opportunity to create a wonderful miracle.

He told me I could pick them up the next day and I not only picked them up but sent them immediately. I found out the gentleman was the manager and I told him he had just helped make a wonderful CHRISTMAS MIRACLE happen. He just smiled and said he was delighted to be involved.

As I have said many times, MIRACLES HAPPEN EVERY DAY! Get involved in creating one of your own. It makes you feel just wonderful. Hope you are enjoying your own Christmas Season. If you are not, then get with the program. Look around for someone to help. It will make you feel wonderful. As always, this is Tulip Green, saying Bye now.
