He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant: Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron: Until the time that his word came: the word of the LORD tried him. Psalm 105:17-19 (KJV)
Everything Joseph went through in his life was part of a divine destiny. You see Joseph was always in destiny. Verse 17 says that Joseph was sent before them. Other words his end was set before his beginning. What we need to get is that we are in destiny. I’m on assignment and God’s got my back. Because if we don’t we will begin to think for the worse. If nobody else is pulling for you, God is pulling for you. And since God is pulling for me I can make when nobody else can.
Philippians 4:9-13 (KJV) 9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you. 10 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity. 11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. 12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Paul shares his testimony here and shows us that based on experiences, for the disciple in Christ, failure is really not an option. Therefore I can’t help but make it. Since life is a great teacher what I have gone through has made me stronger, tougher, wiser, better. So just excuse me if what I see in my future is beyond your comprehension, excuse me if I refuse to settle for average because you may settle for average. Because I believe in The One that has saved me, and called me, can do exceedingly abundantly above all that I can ask or think. Joseph didn’t just show up where he showed up. He showed up and knew he was on assignment. You didn’t just show up where you are, before you was formed in your mother’s womb destiny was on you. Your attitude should not be, what can the church do for you. Your attitude should be, what I can do for this church. You are here on assignment. There are no accidents. If you think that the only reason you are here is because of what a man did, then you will always seek the approval of man. Then you will be limited in your life because of what man can’t assist you with. But when you understand that God has shaped you and formed you, that God has ALWAYS had His hands on your life. You’ll stop trying to please men and start pleasing God. Our mindset should be wherever I am at, I am here because God sent me.
