It’s that time again, Christmas.
Which after the seasonal sales a boon for retailers. But we must ask ourselves, “Don’t you think God foresaw these events?”
We, as Christians, know Christmas as the celebration of Christ’s birth.
The word itself is an old English contraction of the words Christ’s Mass.
Some people write X-mas and others say that is x-ing out Christ, when in reality the X is the Greek alphabet’s chi - meaning Christ.
In Germany, it is Crist Kindel - Christ child. Spain has Nino Jesus.
France and Italy has Petit Noel and Jesu8 Bambino, even the Middle East has Baba Noil.
No matter the country’s language this holiday is the celebration of that wondrous birth.
A beginning for mankind.
And in our gatherings of food, song and pray, may we celebrate in our homes, condos and huts, the joy that love can bring.
Sing a carol to the original manger or the glorious Christmas star. Give a gift of time and compassion and accept well wishes this holiday season.
Remembering that all the joy of Christmas can be found in our own hearts if we believe.
