Dear Editor:

I think that texting and driving is a serious problem because more than 3,000 teens die and 300,000 teen injuries nationwide annually from texting.

If people just put the phone away or let the passenger text for them then the rate would surely go down. I mean it is just as dangerous as drunk driving and 10,228 people died in drunk driving crashes. Texting and driving doesn’t just affect teens but also the more experienced drivers too.

As a new driver I think that the more experienced drivers should set an example to the new drivers.
