Lady Cougars end regular season on high note

The Logan County Lady Cougars soccer team ended the regular season with a 4-1 win over Christian County on Thursday.


The Lady Cougars have five seniors including Anna Holman, Laura Hunt, Courtney McReynolds, Samantha Rittenberry and Monica Rust. They were honored for their contributions to the soccer program.


The Lady Colonels scored early in the first half and were up 1-0 all in the first half. The Christian County goalkeeper was on her game and blocked two penalty kicks by the Lady Cougars in the first half.


The Logan girls came out in the second half and the first goal was scored by Breanna Baptiste 23 minutes into the half. One minute later Lauren Allen scored the second goal to take the lead. Three minutes after that Emma Cartas scored. With three minutes to go in the game Baptiste would score one more to end the game 4-1.


The Lady Cougars now head into the postseason and will play in the District 13 Tournament on Thursday at Franklin-Simpson. Logan County will play the winner of Todd Central and Franklin-Simpson, who face each other tonight.
