A routine traffic stop turned into a drug arrest for the Logan County Sheriff’s Department Friday, July 25, 2014.
Deputy Kyler Harvey of the Logan County Sheriff’s Department conducted a traffic stop at approximately 10:25 p.m. on US 68 East in Auburn. The burgundy 1991 Chevrolet Caprice was traveling eastbound when deputy Harvey noted careless driving, improper use of the left lane, failure to use a turn signal, and expired registration plates.
After stopping the vehicle, which was driven by Tequilla T. Terry, 25, of Russellville, deputy Harvey located marijuana, cocaine and various items of drug paraphernalia. Bradford P. Elliott, 24, of Auburn was a passenger in the vehicle.
Terry was cited and released on multiple traffic violations, while Elliott was arrested and lodged in the Logan County Detention center on charges of possession of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of a controlled substance, first degree, first offense (cocaine), and possession for sale/transfer a simulated substance, first offense.
Deputy Harvey was assisted on scene by deputy Robert Toombs and deputy Brandon Harvey of the Logan County Sheriff’s Department and chief Ed Higgins and officer Larry Jones of the Auburn Police Department.
