Stevenson Elementary experienced a terrific evening with their Back-to-School Bash and Open House Monday, August 2.
There was quite a crowd waiting to enter the school at 4 p.m. They first visited the cafeteria to find the roster with their child’s name and teacher. Then, they had opportunity to visit the table where they received their school menus, received “treats”, and had opportunity to register for some “give-aways.”
There was the school nurse to see and transportation opportunities as well. They met their teachers that have worked tirelessly to get organized and ready for the First Day of School, Thursday, August 6. Lastly, they had the opportunity to visit the “bouncy slide” and grab some popcorn!
In the words of Family Resource Center Coordinator, Carol Kees, “Wow – what a great turnout for our first event of the school year – 375 parent sign-ins on homeroom sign-in sheets, and that’s not including our students – what a way to start our new year. Let’s be intentional about keeping these parents coming into our building, actively participating in our students’ education. Let’s be intentional about always making them feel as welcome as they did last night. Let’s keep smiling, all year long, just like we did last night.”
It is evident that there is definitely some excitement about this new school year!
