Stevenson Elementary holds family dinner night

“It took our community pulling together to pull it off, but the Family Day celebration at Stevenson Elementary was a huge success,” says Carol Kees, Director of the Family Resource Center at Stevenson Elementary School. Mrs. Kees and assistant Debbie Elliot coordinated the efforts of several organizations to provide two seatings of a sit-down dinner, which included spaghetti, salad, bread, dessert, and drinks, as part of the “National Family Day – A Day to Eat Dinner with Your Family” initiative.

 

Farmers recognize importance of science education

Logan County Schools has received a $10,000 grant from America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education, sponsored by the Monsanto Fund. The district will use the money to purchase classroom materials that align with the Next Generation Science Standards recently adopted by the Kentucky State Board of Education.

SES went on mini field trip to Russellville Urban Gardening Project

On October 1, students from Stevenson Elementary School went on a mini field trip to enjoy the Russellville Urban Gardening Project. Each grade level spent approximately one hour at the garden, which is located on a previously vacant lot along 5th Street. I don’t understand because I don’t understand

In 1993, a little girl, dressed like a little boy, crossed the Mexican border, along with her parents, into the United States. The parents gave her sleeping pills so she would be quiet and still, to not attract attention to herself. They entered American with no papers, could not speak English, left behind family, and had very little money. I don’t understand.
