Hello Auburn, get your September calendar out. Those of you who have arthritis may be able to find relief from pain and stiffness through the Arthritis Foundation Exercise Class at the Senior Citizens Center, beginning next Tuesday. The class will be taught by Cheryl Kerchenski, director of the Russellville Sr. Center. Free to participants, classes begin at 9:30 am on Tuesdays and Thursdays from September 2 through October 23. More information can be found in Chris Cooper’s front page story in past Tuesday’s ND&L or by calling the Auburn Center at 270-542-8223.

Wait, there’s more, in addition to their regular schedule, the senior citizens have begun compiling a cookbook this week starting with “dip” recipes. Dates have been set for the annual Auburn Autumn Days on the 19th and 20th of September. A fund raising dinner and silent auction is to be held on Friday night. The rest of the festivities take place on Saturday, including the “Hope 4 Haiti” 5K run/walk sponsored by New Friendship Baptist Church.

Registration is at 7 a.m. and race begins at 8 a.m., at the park on the Amanda Gordon Dr. side in front of the Auburn Sr. Center.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the friends and loved ones of Linda Faye Soyars Blanchard, Jackie Canler and 98 year old Rowena Grimes, who hopefully found a peaceful and pain free place this past week.

Sorry folks, this has to be a short one. Spending the day at Vanderbilt and VA hospitals and have an early wake-up call in the morning.

Even if you have to work at it, have a blessed day.
