RPD arrests four on numerous drug charges


On Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015, at approximately 2 p.m., the Russellville Police Department conducted a traffic stop on North Caldwell Street.

Mark Sydnor, Lamont Sydnor, and Stacey Beard were the occupants of the vehicle. Upon further investigation, the K-9 officer was requested to assist on the stop. K-9 Jaxx did an exterior sniff of the vehicle and indicated on the driver door. Upon search of the vehicle, an unmarked pill bottle was located in the back seat.

Inside the pill bottle, a clear plastic bag containing suspected methamphetamine was located. Also located inside the bottle was a clear plastic bag containing suspected crack cocaine. At the bottom of the bottle, 31 unidentified pills were located. The methamphetamine tested positive and had an approximate weight of 4.5 grams. The crack cocaine tested positive and had an approximate weight of 3.7 grams. All three subjects were charged with the following:

Possession controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense (methamphetamine); possession controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense (cocaine); trafficking in controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense 10 (drug unspecified), and drug paraphernalia.

Investigating officer is Seth Whittaker of the Russellville Police Department.

On Aug. 16, 2015, the Russellville Police Department executed a search warrant at the residence of 450 Johnson Street. Upon entry into the residence, Sean Stratton was detained. Upon search of Stratton’s bedroom, officer’s located 2 plastic bags of suspected methamphetamine that tested positive for methamphetamine.

The approximate weight of the suspected methamphetamine was 20.1 grams. Officers also located a green leafy substance on the coffee table that field tested positive for marijuana. Also located in the coffee table was a clear plastic bag of a green leafy substance that field tested positive for marijuana. Suspected methamphetamine powder, along with a digital weighing scale and numerous plastic bags, were also located near the coffee table in Stratton’s bedroom.

Stratton was arrested and charged as follows:

Trafficking controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense grams (methamphetamine); drug paraphernalia (deliver or manufacture); possession of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia (buy or possess).
