Possession of a firearm by convicted felon


On Saturday, Aug. 9, 2015, at approximately 1:09 a.m., the Russellville Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a 1997 white Ford pickup truck with Tennessee plates for traveling in the opposite lane of traffic.

During the stop, the operator was arrested for Operating a motor vehicle under the influence 1st offense. During the search of the vehicle there were open alcoholic beverages located along with a Ruger 9mm pistol with a loaded 15 round magazine concealed underneath the seat.

The operator was identified as 45-year-old Floyd Tubbs who is a convicted felon and not allowed to be in possession of a firearm.

Tubbs was lodged at the Logan County Detention Center for careless driving; operating a motor vehicle under the influence 1st offense; possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle prohibited, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
