On Thursday, March 16, 2017, the Logan County Sheriff’s Department responded to 1171 Thompson School Road in Lewisburg to attempt to serve a warrant on 33-year-old Thomas Morgan. Morgan was wanted out of Todd County District Court for flagrant non-support.
Upon deputies arrival, Morgan fled out the back door of the residence into a field where he was taken into custody seconds later after attempting to dispose of a clear plastic bag containing suspected marijuana.
During the investigation, deputies located large quantities of methamphetamine and marijuana, along with digital scales, multiple zip loc bags, several items of drug paraphernalia, and a large amount of cash.
Morgan was arrested on the Todd County District Court warrant and as a result of the investigation, he was charged with fleeing or evading police 2nd degree (on foot), tampering with physical evidence, possession of a controlled substance 1st degree (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense (methamphetamine), and trafficking in marijuana less than 8 ounces.
The investigation in ongoing and additional charges may be added.
