The Russellville Rural Fire Department responded to a fire on the morning of Tuesday, Feb. 14 on 68-80 heading towards Bowling Green. The end of a tractor trailer truck had caught fire and flames were reaching between six to eight feet in the air. The truck had pulled over in the emergency lane past the entrance of Logan County High School. The driver had detached the cab from the trailer and was moved a safe distance from the fire.

When firefighters arrived on the scene they quickly brought out the hose and went to work on the fire, which had already begun to climb the rock wall beside the truck, catching grass and weeds on fire.

The fire was extinguished and no one was injured.
