The annual Bro. Joe Carrico’s Country Ham Breakfast was held Thursday morning at the Logan County Extension Office at 255 John Paul Road, Russellville.

The breakfast, which began in 1954, is one of the largest fundraising efforts in Logan County helping underprivileged children during the holidays. From opening toys to feeding families the Agape Service Foundation and volunteers work to make Christmas a memorable day for everyone.

The late Bro. Joe Carrico began collecting for kids because he wanted to make sure they had something to open Christmas morning. He worked diligently throughout the years to assure these children were not forgotten.

The 106th Battalion from Ft. Campbell was on hand helping to serve the food. The Logan County High School JROTC will be there as well and so will Youth Leadership Logan.

If you did not make it out to the breakfast, but still want to help, there are several ways. You can stop by First Southern National Bank in Russellville and make a donation. Or you can drop a toy off at either US Bank, the Dollar Stores in Adairville, Auburn, Lewisburg and Russellville, or the Carrico Center at 551 Johnson Street in Russellville.
