Theft in Russellville

After officers of the Russellville Police Department spoke with the home owner at 357 East 1st Street, in Russellville, it was found that someone entered the garage of that residence and took a Ridget power drill and charger. Through an investigation, the items were located at a local pawn shop. Hank Cowles had pawned the items on Nov. 9, 2016.

The items were seized and returned to the owner.

The home owner also owns the property at 219 East 1st Street in Russellville. Upon entering this property to check for possible theft of other tools, he found Hank Cowles sleeping in the house. Cowles was confronted by the owner and Cowles left the area. Through this investigation, documents with Cowles name on them was located in the residence along with drug residue and drug paraphernalia.

Hank Cowles was located at the corner of 7th and Bethel Streets by Sergeant Morris Kisselbaugh on Nov. 11, 2016. Cowles was placed under arrest and charged with Burglary 3rd Degree and lodged in the Logan County Detention Center.

Arrest warrants have been filed on Cowles for Burglary 2nd Degree, Possession of drugs and paraphernalia.
