Volunteers being sought to help deliver ham breakfast

Bro. Joe Carrico’s Ham Breakfast is fast approaching and tickets are already being sold for the annual fundraiser. Proceeds from the breakfast go to help purchase toys for low income families during Christmas.

The Agape Foundation, who organizes the event, is seeking volunteers to deliver breakfast to local businesses, schools, factories, etc. on Thursday, Nov. 17 between 5:30-11 a.m. An hour at a time would be the volunteer portion and you can pick which hour you would like to deliver.

This event is held at the Logan County Extension Office. This is one of the largest fundraisers in the year. The event brings troops down from Ft. Campbell to help prepare and serve the food. Hundreds of citizens come out to eat with one another and raise money for the children.

Although he has passed on, Brother Joe Carrico’s mission is alive and well. He was instrumental in the Toys for Tots campaign in Logan County for years, now known as Brother Joe’s Christmas. He and many others tirelessly collected throughout the many years so that every child in our community did not go without on Christmas morning.

The Agape Service Foundation, run by Mike and Janice Humble and others, have since picked up the mission since Brother Joe’s death to continue where he left off. Collection is year around and once Christmas is over, Agape begins the process all over again. If you are interested in helping with the breakfast, you can contact Agape at 270-726-7109.
