On Monday, Oct. 17, 2016, at 4:59 p.m., the Logan County Sheriff’s Department responded to the parking lot next to Freeland Dodge in Russellville. The sheriff’s department received information that a repo company was in the process of repoing a vehicle. Ronald Martin Jr., 36, of Russellville, was cleaning out his vehicle when he placed an object in the bed of another vehicle believed to be drug related.
Upon arrival, deputies recovered a quantity of methamphetamine, marijuana, and multiple items of drug paraphernalia. During the investigation, Martin admitted to removing the items from his truck and placing them into the bed of another pickup truck.
Martin was arrested and lodged in the Logan County Detention Center on charges of possession of a controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense (methamphetamine); possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Deputy Kyler Harvey was the arresting officer. He was assisted on scene by Logan County Sheriff Wallace Whittaker, Capt. David Kitchens of the Logan County Sheriff’s Department, and officer Greg Bellar of the Russellville Police Department.
