Drugs found in vehicle during traffic stop


On Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016, at approximately 7:27 p.m., deputy Jarrod Lyons of the Logan County Sheriff’s Department initiated a traffic stop on a tan 1999 Chevrolet Silverado for speeding on Clarksville Road.

Occupying the vehicle was 32-year-old Shannon J. McCall of Auburn.

Further investigations found that McCall was in possession of Opana, a schedule II controlled substance and Diazepam a schedule IV controlled substance. McCall stated he did not have a prescription for either of the drugs.

McCall was taken into custody and lodged in the Logan County Detention Center for speeding 15 miles over limit; possession of a controlled substance 1st degree 2nd offense (drug unspecified); possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree (drug unspecified); two counts of prescription controlled substance not in proper container 1st offense, and license to be in possession.

Deputy Lyons was assisted at the scene by Sgt. Clint Wright of the Logan County Sheriff’s Department.
