Logan County schools superintendent Paul Mullins announced the hiring of a Supervisor of Instruction on Friday.
Contessa Orr will be coming to Logan County schools from Todd County to serve as the district’s new Supervisor of Instruction.
“We are proud to announce Contessa Orr as our new Supervisor of Instruction for Logan County Schools,” Mullins said. “Mrs. Orr is not new to Logan County, she began her administrative career at our own Olmstead School, where she served as Assistant Principal from 2001-2006 so this is somewhat of a homecoming for her.”
After working at Olmstead as an assistant principal, Orr was named as the principal at North Todd Elementary. In 2015 she left North Todd to become the Director of Federal Programs and the District Assessment Coordinator for Todd County Schools. Before working at Olmstead, she was a special education teacher in Todd County.
Orr has 19 years of experience in education and is currently serving on the Next Generation Learning Committee for Kentucky Association of School Administrators. She holds certificates in Special Education, School Administration, and Supervisor of Instruction.
“We are very excited to welcome her back to Logan County and we look forward to the gifts and talents she brings to our team,” Mullins said.
Mrs. Orr is married to Chris Orr of Todd County, they have two children, Aaron who is 18 years old and a freshman at Eastern Kentucky University and Abigail, who is 15 and a sophomore at Todd County Central High School.
She is the first central office administrator Mullins has hired since taking over for previous superintendent Dr. Kevin Hub over the summer. Mullins had to hire a new principal at Lewisburg School soon after taking over. He chose Josh Matthews as the first new principal hiring he made.
