Just shy of a month from the last shooting death in Russellville that took the life of a 29-year-old, another killing has claimed the life of a 21-year-old mother at Robinwood Apartments in Russellville over the weekend.

The Russellville Police do not believe this to be a random act and that either the victim and/or location of this shooting was an intentional target for the suspect .

Shortly after 12 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 21, the Russellville Police Department was dispatched to Robinwood Apartment Complex 6B off of Highland Lick Road in reference to shots fired. When officers arrived, they found 21-year-old Lexus A. Bell shot. An ambulance was dispatched and Bell was transported to Logan Memorial Hospital ER where she was pronounced deceased.

No arrests have been made at this time, however, officers are investigating leads in the case.

This is one of many crimes involving shooting deaths in Logan County recently.

On July 24, 2016, 29-year-old Patrick “P.J.” Gilbert was found shot to death on Edwards Street in Russellville. On Sunday, July, 17, 2016, the Russellville Police Department responded to The Stable in Russellville in reference to a possible shooting. On March, 15, 2016, Russellville Police Officers had to shoot and kill 34-year-old Joseph R. Harris soon after he shot his ex-girlfriend Amanda Harper in a McDonald’s drive-through.

There have been three other murders in Logan County in recent years.

In December of 2015, 23-year-old Allison Walker, of Adairville, was found dead in the Red River in south Logan. In August 2015, 65-year-old Robert Wetton was found shot in the head in his barn on Ellis Road. In December of 2013, 36-year-old Brad Rigney was found dead in his home of blunt force trauma to the head.
