Two arrested for meth on Mud River Church Road


On Aug. 6, 2016, the South Central Kentucky Drug Task Force (SCKDTF) received information that a stolen four wheeler was bought at 357 Mud River Church Road in Russellville. There was also information that there were illegal drugs at this residence.

The four wheeler was located by Bowling Green City Police.

Through further investigation, the SCKDTF obtained a search warrant for the residence to look for more stolen property and illegal drugs. While executing the warrant, officers located methamphetamines, items consistent in manufacturing methamphetamine, an amphetamine pill that is a schedule II narcotic, and marijuana plants growing outside the home.

Hugh “Skeeter Johnson, 40, and Karen “Shelley” Johnson, 47, were arrested and lodged in the Logan County Detention Center on charges of possession of controlled substance 1st deg (meth); possession of controlled substance 1st deg (drug unspecified); unlawful possession of meth precursor; cultivating marijuana 5 plants, and drug paraphernalia buy/possess.

Assisting were the Logan County Sheriff’s Department, Kentucky State Police and Bowling Green City Police.
