Adults, juveniles caught for Auburn vehicle break-ins

On Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at 4:42pm. the Logan County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a picture posted on Facebook of three local juveniles holding a handgun. Durin a lengthy investigation deputy Kyler Harvey, three juveniles and two adults have been charged in connection with recent vehicle break in’s within the Auburn area that occurred late Monday, July 25 and in the early hours of Tuesday, July 26.

The investigation revealed on Monday, July 25 and Tuesday, July 26, Damian J. Calloway, 18, of Franklin and a 16-year-old juvenile entered several unlocked vehicles in the Auburn area on Rogers Drive, Sunset Drive, Bellaire Drive, Circle Drive and Roosevelt Street. The individuals stole numerous items including a GPS, cell phone, loose change, knives, a bicycle and a .25 caliber handgun. Most all items have since been recovered.

The gun was passed through two other 17-year-old juveniles and was recovered by the Logan County Sheriff’s Department.

As a result of the investigation, Calloway was arrested and lodged in the Logan County Detention Center on charges of theft of firearm and multiple charges of theft by unlawful taking under $500.

A 16-year-old juvenile was charged with theft of a firearm and faces additional theft charges.

Two 17-year-old juveniles were charged with receiving stolen property- firearm and possession of a handgun by a minor.

A fifth individual 18-year old Tyra S. Hubbard, of Russellville, was charged with two counts of receiving stolen property under $500 after selling two stolen items to local pawn shops.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending. Additional individuals are expected to be charged.
