Conservation District annual awards

Ms. April Engler, 6-8 grade science teacher with Auburn Elementary, was chosen as the 2016 Teacher of the Year. Ms. Engler is pictured above accepting her awards, a plaque and iPad Mini. Mr. Loyd Houchens, North Logan Supervisor presented the award.


Mr. Joey White was presented with a 5 Year Service Award as a North Logan Conservation District Board Supervisor. Award presented by North Logan Conservation Supervisor Andy Woodall.


Mr. Bobby Brown received a 15 Year Service Award as a North Logan Conservation District Supervisor. Award presented by North Logan Conservation Supervisor Andy Woodall.


Mr. Eddy Russell received a 45 Year Service Award as a South Logan Conservation District Supervisor. Award presented by South Logan Conservation Chairman Bill Henderson.


Recipients of this year’s William S. Johnson Memorial Scholarship are Kendra Proctor and Kenton Howard. The Scholarship is for high school seniors majoring in agriculture or a natural resources field of study. Scholarship presented by Mrs. Betty Johnson and Family and Wesley Wright of the Conservation Districts.


A Memorial Plaque was dedicated to Mr. Thomas B. Brown Jr. for his service and contributions to the conservation of the natural resources in Logan County. Bob Allen, South Logan Supervisor, presented the plaque to Mrs. Gayle Brown, and Ben & Sandra Brown.


2015 Conservation Art & Writing Contest Teacher Participants include Katosha Jessie, Diane Pardue, Cindy Beason, Shannon Wethington, Ashley Latham, Elizabeth Dye, Jamie Metcalfe, & Georgia Bryson of Auburn; Angie Kennedy, Kerry Simmons, & Tammy Triplett of Lewisburg; Carol Ann Dossett & Lori DeBerry of Adariville; and Marty White of Chandlers.


Gwen Newell, from Auburn Elem., was the District Winner in the Conservation Writing Contest.


Cam White, from Lewisburg Elem., was the District Winner in the Conservation Art Contest.


Tianah Sydnor won Second Place at Adairville Elem., in the Conservation Art Contest.


Jordan Hunt won Third Place at Adairville Elem., in the Conservation Art Contest.


Lillian Harris won Third Place at Lewisburg Elem., in the Conservation Art Contest.


Bryce Decker won Second Place at Auburn Elem., in the Conservation Art Contest.


Kaelyn Perdue won Third Place at Auburn Elem., in the Conservation Art Contest.


Aislynn Mathews won First Place at Chandler’s Elem., in the Conservation Art Contest.


Camille Whitescarver won Third Place at Chandler’s Elem., in the Conservation Art Contest. Awards were presented by Conservation District Supervisors Joey White and Frank Orndorff Jr.


The Logan County Conservation Districts recently handed out their 2016 awards.
