Adairville’s mayor is very thankful to the Logan County Fiscal Court for increasing her city’s contribution to the park. Mayor Donna Blake attended the Tuesday, July 26 meeting of the Logan County Fiscal Court to thank the body and to announce what the funds will be used for.
The county increased funding to all the parks in Logan County. Adairville, Auburn and Lewisburg will be receiving $5,000 each, which is up $3,400 from last year. Russellville received the highest increase of $25,000 for a total of $37,000. Both Greenridge and Schochoh received an additional $200.
Mayor Blake said she plans to use the money on the ball fields and for new score boards.
“We need to bring in dirt to the ball fields. You would think that would be an easy thing to put dirt in the field, but it takes a special kind of filler we will need to bring in,” said Blake, who also mentioned the score boards needed replacing.
Blake said she is proud of the park in Adairville and it is getting utilized a great deal. In fact there will be a fall ball program played at the park for the first time in a long time, said Blake.
“I thank you from the bottom of my heart and from the bottom of the kid’s hearts,” said Blake to the magistrates and judge executive. “The children are our future.”
