An Auburn man was arrested Thursday, July 7, for allegedly trying to run into his girlfriend with his car. According to witnesses, 32-year-old Kyle Tanner of Auburn, attempted to intentionally cause a motor vehicle collision between himself and 38-year-old Tequilla Armstrong also of Auburn. Afterwards, Tanner, according to witnesses, started yelling at Armstrong and threatening her.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Department were called out to 108 Hope Way in Auburn in reference to the domestic complaint. When arriving it was found that Captain Todd Raymer of the Russellville Police Department had observed the incident and stopped it from escalating any further.
Tanner was also observed by witnesses causing property damage with his vehicle during the incident as well.
Tanner was arrested and taken to the Logan County Detention Center. He was changed with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol 2nd offense (with an aggravator); reckless driving; criminal mischief 3rd degree; terroristic threatening 3rd degree; menacing; possession of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia; fleeing or evading police (on foot), and wanton endangerment 1st degree.
The case is being investigated by deputy Ed Higgins and Sgt. Robert Toombs.
