Vehicle accidents


On July 03, 2016, at approximately 11:35 p.m., the Russellville Police Department responded to a single vehicle accident at the intersection of Bowling Green Road and 68 Bypass.

Darrell Schoenborn was driving a 2003 Ford sedan and impacted a traffic signal post. The Ford sedan sustained severe damage and the signal’s concrete post had fractured.

Schoenborn was transported to Logan Memorial Hospital for minor injuries.

The Russellville Police Department was assisted by Logan County EMS and the Russellville Fire Department.

On July 3, 2016, officers from the Russellville Police Department were dispatched to the scene of a wreck with injuries at 431 S. and the entrance to the The Greens. Upon arriving it was discovered that a 2008 Ford Mustang, driven by Dustin Craig of Russellville, collided with a 2010 Buick Enclave, driven by Wallace Whittaker of Russellville.

Mr. Whittaker was making a left turn into a driveway when Mr. Craig came around the left side of Mr. Whittaker’s vehicle and made contact. Both vehicles were moderately damaged with Mr. Whittaker’s vehicle being the only vehicle towed from the scene. Mr. Whittaker complained of shoulder and head pain and was transported to Logan Memorial Hospital by Logan County EMS. Neither the passenger of Mr. Whittaker nor the passenger of Mr. Craig were injured in the accident.

The Russellville Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, Logan County EMS and the Russellville Fire Dept.

On Monday, July 4, 2016, the Logan County Sheriff’s Department responded to a single vehicle injury accident on Orndorff Mill Road at Keysburg.

The driver, Hayden Burchett, 22, of Springfield, Tenn., was southbound on Orndorff Mill Road approaching Keysburg when his 1999 GMC pickup hydroplaned due to heavy rain. He ran off the right side of the roadway into a yard striking a tree head on.

Burchett was transported to North Crest ER in Springfield, Tenn. for a possible broken leg.

The accident is being investigated by deputy Billy Poole of the Logan County Sheriff’s Department. Deputy Poole was assisted on scene by the Logan County EMS and the Olmstead Fire Department.
