Logan County Fair to begin soon.

The 2016 Logan County Fair will soon be up and going with lots to do and plenty to see. Fair activities will kick off July 18th with a beef show and end July 30 with a horse show. In between you will be entertained with numerous activities from a pageant, tractor pull, gospel singing and karaoke contest to go cart racing, tug of war, mull pull and BBQ cook-off.

All fair events will take place in or around the Logan County Extension Complex, who helps run the event along with the Fair Board and the Logan County Tourism Commission. There are many volunteers who lend their time to the week-long event each year. The Extension Complex is located at 255 John Paul Rd, Russellville, KY 42276.

“The Logan County Fair Board is made up of a variety of great community volunteers that have worked really hard to bring Logan County an outstanding county fair,” said Leann S. Martin, Logan County Cooperative Extension Agriculture & Natural Resource Agent.

Logan County has a very rich history with its county fair. In the past interest died down and the fair wasn’t as popular as it once was. However, that has all changed in the past few years, and interest is once again high.

“We would like to extend a thank you to our sponsors and the fair board for their time,” said Martin. “Summers Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home and Mike Baugh of Kentucky Farm Bureau for their help with the BBQ cook-off and Barry Joe Wright for his help with the tractor pull.”
