Alleged thief arrested


On June 30, 2016, at 5:15 p.m., the Logan County Sheriffs Department executed a search warrant at 5930 Corinth Road i! reference to a burglary and theft investigation. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the home owner, 31-year-old Trey Rouse of Russellville.

Upon further investigation it was found that Rouse had broken into his neighbors residence several times and stolen firearms and tools. Rouse had sold and pawned all the items he had taken. Several tools were located in pawn shops in Franklin, while one of the firearms was located in Portland, Tenn.

Rouse was charged with burglary 1st; burglary 2nd; two counts of receiving stolen property (firearms), and TBUT u/$500. He was lodged in the Logan County Detention Center.

Sergeant Clint Wight of the Logan County Sheriff’s Department was the investigating officer. He was assisted by Captain David Kitchens and deputies Kyler Harvey and Jarrod Lyons, also of the Logan County Sheriff’s Department, and the South Central Kentucky Drug Task Force.

The investigation is ongoing and more charges are expected.
