A Russellville man was arrested last week after an investigation by the Logan County Sheriff’s Department found he had broken into his neighbor’s house and stolen guns and tools.
On Thursday, June 30 at 5:15 p.m. the Logan County Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant at 5930 Corinth Road in reference to a burglary and theft investigation.
Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the home owner, 31-year-old Trey Rouse of Russellville. After an investigation, it was discovered that Rouse had broken into his neighbor’s home several times and stolen firearms and tools.
According to a police report, Rouse had sold and pawned all the items he had taken. Several tools were located in pawn shops in Franklin while one of the guns was located in Portland, Tenn.
Rouse was arrested and charged with first degree burglary, second degree burglary, two counts of receiving stolen property (firearms) and theft by unlawful taking under $500. He was lodged in the Logan County Detention Center.
Sergeant Clint Wright was the investigating and arresting officer in the case. He was assisted on the scene by Captain David Kitchens, deputies Kyler Harvey and Jarrod Lyons and the South Central Kentucky Drug Task Force.
According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Department, this investigation is still ongoing and more charges are expected to follow.
