There is ample opportunities thise weekend to celebrate Independence Day in Logan County with several free fireworks displays planned.
The first will be on Saturday, July 2 when Focus Church will host a Freedom Celebration at 6 p.m. at the Dunmor city ballpark. There will be a worship concert, free grill out, fun children bouncies and a huge fireworks display.
Then on Sunday, July 3, Pleasant Union Baptist Church in Lewisburg will have a Fourth of July Celebration. The festivities will kick off with a blood drive from 1 to 6 p.m. And after that there will be food activities and singing until dark when there will be a fireworks display.
On Monday, July 4 there will be several events in Logan County – including the big Hintons Thunder over Lewisburg. Come to the Lewisburg City Park anytime after 4 p.m. on the 4th of July for a large beautiful show of fireworks. Chaney’s Dairy will have ice cream available and there will also be funnel cakes and popcorn, pulled pork, pork loin, bologna, hamburgers, and hot dogs! No alcohol or drugs allowed.
Also on Monday in Adairville the Red River Fish & Game Habitat (Club) in Adairville is sponsoring one of the biggest events of the year in Logan County on Monday evening July 4. The doors open at 4 p.m. There will be a big BBQ dinner with all the trimmings and a drink for only $10 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under. The well known Freddie B, one of the top 10 Elvis Impersonators in the country, will be entertaining.
There will be door prizes, a raffle and possibly an auction item or two. All this will then be followed by one of the largest ever free fireworks displays in the history of Logan County. The event is open to the public and all are encouraged to attend.
There will also be the annual Coon Range Fish & Game Club Fourth of July Fish Fry at the club house located at 1283 Coon Range Lake Road, Lewisburg. There will a catfish dinner with all the trimmings plus homemade desert served at noon. There will be bingo, cake walks, raffles and kids games. The lake will be open for all that want to fish.
