It doesn’t take long when visiting Logan County and its four cities to realize patriotism is plentiful, alive, and well. We don’t have to have a holiday to present the red, white and blue; for most waving old glory is an everyday occurrence.

However, there are those who go the extra mile during Memorial and Veteran’s Day as well as the up and coming 4th of July. For Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Ross of the Greens, there can never be enough flags.

The couple line their driveway every 4th of July with American flags, place yard ornaments that show how proud they are to live in the United States, and adorn plagues on their threshold garnishing that fact.

For the Rosses, their name itself signifies our freedom, as Betsy Ross is widely credited with making the first American flag.
