Two nabbed in attempt to sell drugs

On Tuesday, June 21, 2016, the Russellville Police Department began an investigation into drug trafficking.

Officers from the Russellville Police Department began communicating via cell phone with a male subject who was trying to sell Suboxone, a controlled substance to them. Sergeant Clint Wright of the Logan County Sheriff’s Department, located a vehicle and two suspects in the parking lot of Ski Daddy’s restaurant. Upon further investigation, Sergeant Wright located the Suboxone that was attempting to be sold.

Marshall Riley, 33, of Russellville was arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance 3rd degree, 1st offense and possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree, 1st offense. Along with Riley, 29-year-old Jacob Embry of Louisville was arrested and charged with driving on a DUI suspended license 1st offense and complicity to trafficking in a controlled substance 3rd degree, 1st offense. Both were taken to the Logan County Detention Center.

Sergeant Wright was assisted by Captain David Kitchens and deputy Kyler Harvey of the Logan County Sheriff’s Department and the Russellville Police Department.
