Altercation leads police to buckets of marijuana plants


On May 26, 2016, at approximately 9:31 a.m., the Logan County Sheriff’s Department responded to a domestic in progress at 146 Nourse Road in Russellville. Upon arrival and through an investigation, it was found that 53-year-old Anthony Baird had been in a verbal altercation with his live-in girlfriend Janet Stevenson.

While at the residence deputies found evidence of marijuana growing on the property. A search of the property reveled marijuana growing in five gallon buckets.

Baird was arrested and charged with cultivating marijuana and resisting arrest.

The South Central Kentucky Drug Task Force (SCKDTF) were notified and executed a search warrant on the residence. Agents located more marijuana plants and other narcotics and drug paraphernalia.

Sgt. Clint Wright of the Logan County Sheriff’s Department was the arresting deputy. He was assisted on scene by deputies Laura Hadden and Billy Poole of the Logan County Sheriff’s Department.
