The City of Russellville introduces two new full-time firefighters.
The first is Johnathan Epley. He is a 2004 graduate of Logan County High School and is the son of Tina and Jeff Jones of Adairville and Lonny Epley of Epley Station. He is also the grandson of Marie and the late Billy Epley of Russellville and Gertie and the Late Melburn Latham of Silver City in Butler County.
Johnathan currently resides in Epley Station with his wife Samantha Shields-Epley. Johnathan and his brother Dustin Epley are the owners and operators of J&D Farms. Johnathan also serves as a Captain on the Lewisburg Rural and City Volunteer Fire Departments where he has been a member since 2008. Johnathan has been member of the Russellville City Fire Department since January of 2015, originally as a volunteer and full-time since March 2016.
The Second is Nathan Belcher. Nathan is a 2007 graduate of Penn Foster. He is the son of Richie and Sherry Belcher of Russellville. He is the grandson of Gradie and Rosie Belcher of Russellville and Ronald and Gene Thornberry of Lewisburg.
Nathan is the owner and operator of Backwoods Lawn and Landscaping. He has been a member of the Lewisburg Rural and City Volunteer Department since 2011 and a member of the Russellville City Fire Department since August of 2015, first as a volunteer and then as a full-time firefighter since March 2016.
Both were sworn in at ceremony at the Russellville Fire Department in front family, friends and department members. There was a reception with refreshments afterwards. The swearing in ceremony was performed by the Mayor of Russellville Mark Stratton.
Johnathan had his new badge pinned on by his father Lonny. Nathan had his new badge pinned on by his father Richie.
