Supporting your local humane society is something members of society boards and shelter employees rely upon to do their job. Without the community’s support, the society would not be able to save the lives of so many of the homeless animals that come to a shelter every day. From volunteering to walk dogs, to lending a hand at one of the many fundraising events to help to raise money, support is what finds these animals a forever home and keeps the euthanasia numbers down.
The Logan County Humane Society relies heavily on community support as well. According to the society’s board members the community has and is very helpful in keeping animals moving at the shelter.
“We can’t thank enough those who support our mission to save as many animals as we can,” said Amanda Castile, Logan’s shelter director.
One of the most recent fundraising efforts the Logan County Humane Society is doing involves Southwest Airlines, who has donated two vouchers worth $351 to be raffled off.
Yes, two winners will be announced June 1, 2016, and will be able to use the vouchers towards a ticket(s) anywhere Southwest flies.
To enter the drawing you must donate $10 to receive one ticket or $25 to receive two tickets in the raffle. All proceeds donated will go to help save the homeless animals of Logan County. Vouchers must be used by Dec. 5, 2016.
“This is yet another way we can help raise money for the animals and also give back to the community,” said Castile.
Donations can be made at Brown’s Animal Hospital, Logan County Animal Clinic, Roy’s BBQ, Hair Affair, Farm Bureau, First Southern National Bank, Logan County Auto Body & Towing, Lewisburg Bank or the Logan County Humane Society.
“We couldn’t do what we do without our community partners,” said Castile. “We are very grateful for helping us save the animals.”
